ScabFREE Lotion is a topical treatment specifically designed to eliminate scabies mites. Scabies is a contagious skin infestation caused by tiny mites that burrow into the skin, causing intense itching and a rash. ScabFREE contains permethrin, a powerful insecticide that kills scabies mites and their eggs.
How Does ScabFREE Work? #
Permethrin, the active ingredient in ScabFREE, works by disrupting the nervous system of scabies mites, leading to paralysis and death. This effectively eliminates the infestation and provides relief from the associated symptoms.
Who Can Use ScabFREE? #
ScabFREE Lotion is safe and effective for both adults and children. It can be used to treat scabies infestations in people of all ages, including infants.
How to Use ScabFREE Lotion #
- Bathe and Dry: Take a warm bath or shower and dry your skin thoroughly before applying the lotion.
- Apply to Entire Body: Apply a thin layer of ScabFREE Lotion to your entire body, from your neck down to the soles of your feet. Pay close attention to areas where scabies mites are commonly found, such as between fingers, underarms, wrists, and groin.
- Leave on for 8-12 Hours: Leave the lotion on your skin for 8-12 hours. You can apply it before bedtime and wash it off in the morning.
- Wash Thoroughly: After 8-12 hours, wash the lotion off thoroughly with warm water and soap.
- Repeat if Necessary: In some cases, a second application may be needed after 7 days. Consult your doctor if your symptoms do not improve or if you experience a reinfestation.
Dosage #
The amount of ScabFREE Lotion to use depends on the age of the person being treated:
- Adults and children over 12 years: Half of the bottle (30 ml)
- Children aged 5-12 years: One-fourth of the bottle (15 ml)
- Children aged 1-5 years: One-eighth of the bottle (8 ml)
- Infants aged 2 months – 1 year: One-sixteenth of the bottle (4 ml)
Note: Some adults may need more than 30 ml of lotion. The maximum amount is limited to 60 ml (1 bottle).
Important Precautions #
- For External Use Only: Do not ingest ScabFREE Lotion.
- Avoid Contact with Eyes, Nose, and Mouth: If contact occurs, rinse thoroughly with water.
- Consult a Doctor: If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or have any other health concerns, talk to your doctor before using ScabFREE Lotion.
- Discontinue Use: If you experience any severe skin irritation or allergic reactions, stop using the lotion and consult your doctor.
Storage #
- Store below 30°C (86°F).
- Do not freeze.
- Protect from light and heat.
- Keep out of the reach of children.
- Shake well before use.
- Tighten the cap after use.
