Daskil 250mg Tablet

Each tablet of Daskil tablets contains 250mg of Terbinafine as Hydrochloride, compliant with USP specifications.

Daskil INDICATIONS:

Onychomycosis caused by dermatophyte fungi

Tinea Capitis

Fungal infections of the skin including tinea corporis, cruris, pedis, and yeast infections caused by Candida albicans, where oral therapy is preferred

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION:

• Children under 2 years: No data available
• Children under 20 kg: 60.5 mg (half a 125 mg tablet) once daily
• Children 20 to 40 kg: 125 mg (one 125 mg tablet) once daily
• Children over 40 kg: 250 mg (two 125 mg tablets) once daily
• Adults: 250 mg once daily

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

• Not recommended for chronic or active liver disease.
• Caution in patients with renal impairment.
• Elderly patients should consider pre-existing liver or kidney function.
• Terbinafine inhibits CYP2D6 metabolism, needing caution with drugs metabolized by CYP2D6.

INTERACTIONS:

• Cimetidine decreases terbinafine clearance by 33%
• Fluconazole increases terbinafine exposure
  Rifampicin increases terbinafine clearance by 100%

PRECAUTIONS:

Daskil contains lactose (21 mg/tablet), unsuitable for patients with galactose intolerance or glucose-galactose malabsorption

PREGNANCY AND LACTATION:

No major effects of terbinafine on other medications were observed.

CONTRAINDICATIONS:

Hypersensitivity to terbinafine or any of the excipients of Daskil tablets.

SPECIAL WARNINGS:

Caution for patients with chronic or active liver disease

Monitor for signs of hepatotoxicity

Discontinue use if progressive skin rash occurs

Dermatological Effects:

Rare cases of serious skin reactions reported

Blood dyscrasias rarely observed
