What’s in Clobederm Cream?

Each 100g of Clobederm Cream contains 0.05g (or 0.05%) of Clobetasol Propionate USP, a synthetic corticosteroid.

What is Clobederm Cream Used For?

Cream is a potent topical steroid typically prescribed for short-term treatment of:

• psoriasis (excluding widespread plaque psoriasis)
• Stubborn eczema
• Lichen planus
• Discoid lupus erythematosus
• Other skin conditions that haven’t responded to weaker steroids

How to Use Cream

• Apply a thin layer of Cream to the affected area once or twice daily until you see improvement.
• Discontinue use once your condition is under control. Do not use for longer than four weeks without consulting your doctor.
• For stubborn cases, occlusive dressings might be necessary (consult your doctor).

Who Should Not Use Cream?

Do not use Cream if you have:

• Rosacea
• Acne
• Perioral dermatitis
• Primary cutaneous viral infections
• Hypersensitivity to any ingredients
• Fungal or bacterial infections (especially in children under 1 year)

Important Precautions

• Avoid using Cream on your face for extended periods.
• Don’t get Cream in your eyes as it may increase glaucoma risk.
• Be aware that Clobederm may mask infections.
• Limit use on children to minimize the risk of adrenal gland suppression.
• Prolonged use can cause skin thinning.
• Use caution when applying around the eyelids.
• If you have psoriasis, your doctor will monitor your treatment.
• For infected lesions, antibiotics might be needed.
• Stop using Clobederm if you notice an infection spreading.

Pregnant or breastfeeding women should avoid extensive use of Cream. Consult your doctor before using.

Possible Side Effects

With prolonged or extensive use, Clobederm Cream may cause:

• Darkening of the skin
• Skin thinning or stretch marks
• Enlarged blood vessels near the application site
• Changes in skin pigmentation
• Excessive hair growth
• Allergic reactions
