Description
Drate 70mg Tablet contains Alendronate Sodium, a bisphosphonate medication prescribed for the treatment and prevention of osteoporosis in postmenopausal women and for the management of glucocorticoid-induced osteoporosis and Paget's disease of bone. Alendronate inhibits osteoclast-mediated bone resorption, reducing the rate of bone loss and progressively increasing bone mineral density (BMD) at the spine and hip. Clinical studies have demonstrated significant reductions in the risk of vertebral, hip, and non-vertebral fractures with regular weekly use.
Drate 70mg is a once-weekly tablet, improving patient adherence compared to daily regimens. It must be taken first thing in the morning on an empty stomach with a full glass (200–250 mL) of plain water — not mineral water, juice, or coffee. The patient must remain upright (sitting or standing) for at least 30 minutes after ingestion and must not eat or drink anything other than plain water during this period. This is to prevent oesophageal irritation or ulceration, which is the most common adverse effect.

How To Use

FAQs
Why must I stay upright after taking Drate 70mg?
