Tigasor 10mg Capsules by Maxitech contain Acitretin 10mg, a potent oral systemic retinoid used to treat severe cases of psoriasis that have not responded to other treatments. Critical Safety Warnings
- Teratogenicity: Acitretin is highly teratogenic. It must never be used during pregnancy. Women of childbearing potential must use effective contraception during treatment and for 3 years after stopping acitretin. Failure to do so risks severe birth defects.
- Liver and Lipid Monitoring: Regular monitoring of liver enzymes and lipid levels (cholesterol and triglycerides) is required throughout treatment. Your dermatologist will arrange these tests.
- Prescription Only: This medication must only be initiated and supervised by a qualified dermatologist.
- No Alcohol: Do not consume alcohol during treatment or for 2 months after stopping, as this can convert acitretin to etretinate, which has a much longer elimination half-life and extends teratogenicity risk.
