Description
Amgydex Eye Drops 5ml — Tobramycin 0.3% & Dexamethasone 0.1%
Amgydex Eye Drops 5ml is a prescription ophthalmic preparation combining Tobramycin 0.3% (aminoglycoside antibiotic) and Dexamethasone 0.1% (corticosteroid). This combination treats bacterial infections and inflammatory conditions of the anterior segment of the eye simultaneously.
Tobramycin inhibits bacterial protein synthesis, providing broad-spectrum coverage against susceptible Gram-positive and Gram-negative organisms. Dexamethasone suppresses the release of pro-inflammatory mediators, reducing ocular redness, swelling, and pain.

FAQs
What conditions does Amgydex Eye Drops treat?
Amgydex Eye Drops treat bacterial eye infections (conjunctivitis, blepharitis) and ocular inflammation. The Tobramycin component fights bacteria while Dexamethasone reduces redness, swelling, and irritation.
Can Amgydex be used for viral or fungal eye infections?
No. Amgydex is only effective against bacterial infections. It must not be used for viral (e.g., herpes) or fungal infections, as this could worsen the condition.
How long should Amgydex Eye Drops be used?
Use for the full course prescribed by your doctor. Typically 7–10 days. Prolonged use of steroid-containing eye drops should be avoided without medical supervision due to risk of raised intraocular pressure.
