Angised 0.5mg Tablets — Glyceryl Trinitrate for Angina Relief
Description
Angised 0.5mg Tablets — Glyceryl Trinitrate for Angina Relief
Angised 0.5mg Tablets contain Glyceryl Trinitrate (GTN), a fast-acting nitrate vasodilator used for the rapid relief of acute angina pectoris (chest pain caused by reduced blood flow to the heart). By relaxing and widening the coronary blood vessels, GTN allows more oxygen-rich blood to reach the heart muscle, quickly easing pain and discomfort.
Placed under the tongue (sublingual route), Angised is absorbed directly into the bloodstream — providing relief within 1–3 minutes. It may also be taken before anticipated physical exertion or stress known to trigger angina attacks.
Key Benefits / Uses
- Rapid sublingual relief from acute angina attacks
- Dilates coronary arteries to improve heart blood supply
- Reduces cardiac workload during exertion or stress
- Prophylactic use before exercise that triggers angina
- Fast-acting: onset within 1–3 minutes
How to Use
At the first sign of an angina attack, place one Angised 0.5mg tablet under the tongue and allow it to dissolve completely — do not swallow or chew. If chest pain persists after 5 minutes, a second tablet may be taken. If pain continues after a further 5 minutes, seek emergency medical attention immediately. May also be taken 5–10 minutes before activities known to provoke angina. Always follow your doctor's instructions.
Safety Information
- Rx — prescription required.
- CRITICAL — PDE5 inhibitor contraindication: Angised is absolutely contraindicated in patients taking sildenafil (Viagra), tadalafil (Cialis), vardenafil or any other PDE5 inhibitor. Concurrent use can cause severe, potentially fatal hypotension (sudden drop in blood pressure).
- May cause headache, dizziness or flushing — these are common effects of vessel dilation.
- Use with caution in patients with hypotension, severe anaemia or recent stroke.
- Do not stand up suddenly after taking — sit or lie down until symptoms resolve.
- Store tablets in their original airtight container away from heat and moisture; GTN is volatile.

FAQs
How quickly does Angised work?
Angised is absorbed sublingually and typically relieves angina pain within 1–3 minutes of placing the tablet under the tongue.
Can I take Angised if I use sildenafil (Viagra) or tadalafil (Cialis)?
No — this is a critical contraindication. Combining Angised with any PDE5 inhibitor (sildenafil, tadalafil, vardenafil) can cause severe, potentially fatal hypotension. Inform your doctor of all medications.
Can Angised be taken before exercise?
Yes, it may be taken 5–10 minutes before physical activity known to trigger angina, as advised by your doctor.
