Arimidex 1mg Tablets — Anastrozole for Breast Cancer Treatment

Arimidex 1mg Tablets contain Anastrozole, an aromatase inhibitor used to treat hormone receptor-positive (HR+) breast cancer in postmenopausal women. Anastrozole reduces estrogen production in the body by blocking the aromatase enzyme, thereby slowing or stopping the growth of estrogen-dependent breast tumours.

Arimidex is a first-line hormonal therapy for early and advanced HR+ breast cancer in women who have completed menopause. It is also used as adjuvant therapy to prevent cancer recurrence following surgery, chemotherapy, or radiotherapy. Arimidex is not appropriate for premenopausal women unless under specialist oncology guidance.

Common side effects include hot flushes, joint pain or stiffness, bone loss (osteoporosis risk — calcium/Vitamin D supplementation often co-prescribed), nausea, headache, depression, and fatigue. Patients should inform their physician of liver, kidney, or bone density concerns. Do not take concurrently with tamoxifen or oestrogen-containing medicines.

Manufactured by ICI Pharma. Prescription required. Consult your oncologist before starting or modifying treatment.
