Axesom 20mg Capsule by Highnoon Laboratories contains esomeprazole 20 mg, a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) that strongly suppresses gastric acid secretion. The 20 mg dose is the maintenance and standard strength for gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GERD), heartburn, peptic and duodenal ulcers, and as part of H. pylori eradication therapy.
How Esomeprazole Works
Esomeprazole irreversibly inhibits the H+/K+ ATPase “proton pump” in stomach parietal cells, reducing both basal and stimulated acid output. Lower acid levels allow inflamed oesophageal and gastric mucosa to heal and prevent acid-related symptoms from recurring.

Important Safety Information
- Long-term use cautions: Extended PPI therapy may be associated with reduced bone mineral density and fracture risk, low magnesium (hypomagnesaemia) and vitamin B12 deficiency. Periodic monitoring may be advised.
