Bemletol 180mg Tablet contains Bempedoic Acid, a first-in-class ATP-citrate lyase (ACL) inhibitor that reduces LDL (bad) cholesterol by targeting the liver's cholesterol synthesis pathway upstream of HMG-CoA reductase. Because ACL is only active in liver cells — not in skeletal muscle — Bempedoic Acid delivers meaningful LDL reduction with a significantly lower risk of the myopathy and myalgia associated with statins.
Bemletol 180mg is prescribed for adults with primary hypercholesterolaemia or mixed dyslipidaemia as an add-on to statins when LDL targets are not met, or as monotherapy when statins are not tolerated.
