Description
Btno Syrup 5mg/5mL (120mL bottle) contains Bambuterol Hydrochloride 5mg per 5mL — the oral liquid form of a long-acting beta-2 agonist bronchodilator. Bambuterol is a prodrug of terbutaline that selectively stimulates beta-2 receptors in bronchial smooth muscle, causing airway relaxation, inhibiting spasmogen release, reducing inflammatory oedema, and enhancing mucociliary clearance to ease breathing.
Btno Syrup is indicated for the treatment of asthma, bronchospasm, chronic bronchitis, and emphysema. The syrup form is particularly useful for patients who have difficulty swallowing tablets, including children aged 12 years and above, using weight-based dosing as directed by their physician.
Side effects are similar to Btno Tablets: fine tremor, palpitations, headache, and muscle cramps. Monitor potassium levels in patients on diuretics or steroids. The syrup should be measured accurately using the provided measuring cup and taken at the same time daily for consistent bronchodilation.
