CeraVe SA Skin Renewal Cream 340g
CeraVe SA Skin Renewal Cream 340g is a large-format body cream built specifically for rough, bumpy and dry body skin — including keratosis pilaris (KP). This is a body product, not a face cream; the 340g jar provides generous coverage for repeated full-body application. The formula combines salicylic acid and lactic acid as dual chemical exfoliants to smooth rough patches and dissolve the keratin plugs responsible for KP bumps, while urea draws deep moisture and ceramides restore the skin barrier. MVE Technology releases hydrating ingredients throughout the day for continuous softening. Fragrance-free, non-comedogenic, and dermatologist-developed.

Description
CeraVe SA Skin Renewal Cream 340g — Body Exfoliator for Rough Skin & Keratosis Pilaris
CeraVe SA Skin Renewal Cream 340g is a dedicated body cream — not a face product. The generous 340g jar format is a clear signal: this is designed for full-body application to arms, thighs, legs, elbows and knees where dry, rough and bumpy skin is most persistent. At its core is a powerful combination of two chemical exfoliants working in tandem: salicylic acid (BHA) and lactic acid (AHA), supported by urea, ceramides, and CeraVe's signature MVE Technology.
This formula is particularly well known for its effectiveness against keratosis pilaris (KP) — the common condition that causes rough, bumpy chicken-skin texture, typically on the upper arms and thighs. KP is caused by keratin plugging of hair follicles; salicylic acid dissolves these plugs from within the pore, while lactic acid resurfaces the skin above.
Key Ingredients & Their Body-Care Roles
- Salicylic Acid (BHA): Oil-soluble acid that penetrates pore lining to dissolve keratin plugs and dead cell buildup. Primary active against KP and rough body texture.
- Lactic Acid (AHA): Water-soluble exfoliant that refines the surface layer of skin. Complements salicylic acid by resurfacing at the skin's outer layer while SA works deeper.
- Urea: Natural moisturising factor (NMF) that draws water into the skin and softens hardened, thickened skin — especially effective for the rough patches associated with KP and very dry body skin.
- Three Essential Ceramides (1, 3, 6-II): Restore the skin's lipid barrier, which is commonly depleted in dry and KP-affected body skin.
- MVE Technology: Time-released hydration delivery maintains skin softness and moisture between applications.

Usage & Benefits
Dual chemical exfoliation: Salicylic acid (BHA) and lactic acid (AHA) work together to dissolve dead skin cells and keratin plugs — the core cause of KP bumps and rough body patches
Keratosis pilaris treatment: Specifically effective at reducing the rough, chicken-skin texture of KP on arms, thighs and legs
Urea deep hydration: Urea is a natural moisturising factor that pulls moisture into the skin and softens hardened, thickened patches
Ceramide barrier restoration: Three essential ceramides help repair the skin barrier that is often compromised in KP and chronically dry body skin
Large 340g body format: The jar size is designed for full-body coverage — enough for arms, legs, thighs and torso in repeated applications
MVE Technology: Time-released ingredient delivery keeps skin smooth and hydrated between applications
Fragrance-free & non-comedogenic: Safe for sensitive body skin; will not cause breakouts on chest or back areas
How To Use
1. Shower or bathe as usual and pat skin partially dry — slightly damp skin absorbs the cream better.
2. Scoop a generous amount of CeraVe SA Skin Renewal Cream from the jar.
3. Apply in circular, massaging motions onto rough or bumpy body areas — upper arms, thighs, lower legs, elbows and knees.
4. Allow to absorb for 1–2 minutes before dressing.
5. Use once or twice daily for best results, consistently over 4–8 weeks for KP improvement.
Tip: For stubborn KP areas, apply at night and allow the cream to work overnight. Daily use yields significantly better texture improvement than occasional use.
FAQs
Is this a face cream or a body cream?
This is a body cream. The large 340g format is designed for repeated application to the arms, legs, thighs and torso. Salicylic acid at body concentrations combined with the jar size clearly position this as a body product. For face-specific salicylic acid products, see CeraVe's facial SA cleanser range.
How is this different from the CeraVe SA Renewing Cleanser?
The SA Renewing Cleanser is a rinse-off face wash for facial use. This SA Skin Renewal Cream is a leave-on body moisturizer. Both use salicylic acid for exfoliation, but the delivery mechanism, format and body areas are completely different.
Can this treat keratosis pilaris (KP)?
Yes. The combination of salicylic acid and lactic acid is particularly effective for KP, which is caused by keratin plugging of hair follicles. These acids dissolve the plug while ceramides and urea soften and hydrate the surrounding skin. Most users see visible improvement within 4–8 weeks of daily use.
Why does this contain both salicylic acid AND lactic acid?
Salicylic acid (BHA) is oil-soluble and penetrates the pore lining to dissolve debris; lactic acid (AHA) is water-soluble and exfoliates at the skin surface. Together they provide complementary exfoliation at different depths, making the cream more effective for rough texture than either acid alone.
Can I use this on my face?
It is not recommended for facial use. The formula and jar size are designed for body application. For facial rough texture, use CeraVe's face-specific SA products.
