Description

Empator 25mg Tablets — Empagliflozin SGLT2 Inhibitor

Empator 25mg Tablets contain Empagliflozin 25mg, a sodium-glucose co-transporter-2 (SGLT2) inhibitor prescribed for the management of type 2 diabetes mellitus. It lowers blood sugar by preventing glucose reabsorption in the kidneys, causing excess glucose to be excreted in urine.

This medicine requires a valid prescription from a licensed physician.

Clinical Uses

  • Management of type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults
  • Reduction of cardiovascular risk in diabetic patients with established heart disease
  • Reduction of the risk of hospitalisation for heart failure
  • Nephroprotection in diabetic kidney disease

How It Works

Empagliflozin blocks SGLT2 receptors in the renal proximal tubule, reducing renal glucose reabsorption and increasing urinary glucose excretion. This mechanism lowers plasma glucose independently of insulin secretion.

Important Information

  • For use in type 2 diabetes only — not indicated for type 1 diabetes
  • Monitor renal function before and during therapy
  • Risk of urinary tract infections and genital mycotic infections
  • Dose adjustment may be required in renal impairment
