Description
Exempa Lin Met XR 12.5/2.5/1000mg Tablet is a fixed-dose triple combination containing Empagliflozin 12.5mg (SGLT2 inhibitor), Linagliptin 2.5mg (DPP-4 inhibitor), and Metformin HCl 1000mg XR (biguanide) — prescribed for adults with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus requiring intensified glycaemic management.
Empagliflozin lowers blood glucose by promoting urinary glucose excretion and provides cardiovascular and renal protection. Linagliptin enhances glucose-dependent insulin secretion and reduces glucagon levels. Metformin XR decreases hepatic glucose production and improves insulin sensitivity — all in a single once-daily extended-release tablet.
For patients requiring a lower Empagliflozin dose, consider Exempa Lin Met XR 10/5/1000mg Tablet. For dual-component SGLT2+Metformin therapy, see Empaglimet 12.5/500mg Tablet.
Safety Information: Not for Type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis. Contraindicated in severe renal impairment (eGFR <45). Monitor kidney function and blood glucose regularly. Rx only — valid prescription required. Email to sales@derma.pk or WhatsApp +92-320-5999650.

FAQs
What makes Exempa Lin Met XR a triple therapy?
It combines three antidiabetic agents — Empagliflozin (SGLT2 inhibitor), Linagliptin (DPP-4 inhibitor), and Metformin XR (biguanide) — each acting through a different mechanism to lower blood sugar comprehensively.
Does the XR formulation make a difference?
Yes. The extended-release (XR) formulation ensures gradual release of Metformin throughout the day, improving tolerability and reducing gastrointestinal side effects compared to immediate-release formulations.
Can this tablet be used by patients with mild kidney disease?
Use with caution. It is contraindicated in patients with eGFR below 45 mL/min/1.73m². Your doctor will check your kidney function before prescribing and periodically during therapy.
