FAQs
Q: Is a prescription required for Fucort-B Cream? A: Yes. Fucort-B Cream (Fusidic Acid 2% + Betamethasone 0.1%) is a prescription-only potent combination cream. Consult a dermatologist before use. Q: What conditions does Fucort-B Cream treat? A: Fucort-B treats eczematous dermatoses with secondary bacterial infection, including atopic eczema, discoid eczema, seborrheic dermatitis, contact dermatitis, primary irritant dermatitis, psoriasis, and discoid lupus erythematosus. Q: How long can I use Fucort-B Cream? A: A single treatment course should not exceed 2 weeks. Prolonged use of potent corticosteroids can cause skin thinning, stretch marks, and systemic effects. Always follow your doctor's guidance. Q: Can Fucort-B Cream be used on the face? A: It should not be used on facial skin conditions like rosacea, acne vulgaris, or perioral dermatitis. Consult your doctor before applying near the face. Q: What are the possible side effects? A: Local side effects may include application site irritation, folliculitis, hypertrichosis, allergic contact dermatitis, or depigmentation. Prolonged use risks skin atrophy and systemic corticosteroid effects. Q: Can Fucort-B Cream be used during pregnancy? A: Consult your doctor. Large amounts or prolonged use of potent corticosteroids during pregnancy may have adverse effects. Q: Why is an antibiotic combined with a steroid in Fucort-B? A: In inflamed, eczematous skin, secondary bacterial infections commonly develop. Fucort-B addresses both the inflammation (Betamethasone) and the bacterial infection (Fusidic Acid) simultaneously.
