Hiflox 500mg Tab contains Ciprofloxacin HCl 500mg, a higher-strength broad-spectrum fluoroquinolone antibiotic for treating moderate to severe bacterial infections. Indications include urinary tract infections (UTIs), complicated respiratory infections, skin and soft tissue infections, gastrointestinal infections, bone and joint infections, and typhoid fever. The 500mg dose provides stronger bactericidal activity by inhibiting bacterial DNA gyrase, stopping replication and growth.
Important precautions: Fluoroquinolones carry risks of QT interval prolongation, tendon inflammation and rupture (especially when combined with corticosteroids), and CNS effects — use with caution in patients with epilepsy. Do not take with antacids, iron supplements, or dairy within 2 hours. Always complete the full course as prescribed. A valid prescription is required.
