Composition:

IVERMITE TABLET Each Contains: Ivermectin USP: 6mg

Pharmacology:

Pharmacokinetics:

Following oral administration of ivermectin, plasma concentrations are approximately proportional to the dose. After a single 12mg dose of ivermectin in fasting conditions, the peak plasma concentration of the major component (H2B1a) is reached approximately 4 hours after dosing. Ivermectin is metabolized in the liver and excreted almost exclusively in the feces over an estimated 12 days. The plasma half-life of ivermectin in humans is
approximately 18 hours

Microbiology:

Ivermectin is a broad-spectrum ant parasitic agent that binds selectively to glutamate gated chloride ion channels in invertebrate nerve and muscle cells, leading to paralysis and death of the parasite. It has unique mode of action and a low affinity for mammalian ligand gated chloride channels

Indications and Usage:

Ivermite treats the following infections:

  • Scabies
  • Strongyloidiasis of the intestinal tract
  • Onchocerciasis (note: Ivermite does not kill adult Onchocercid parasites)

Contraindications:

Patients who are hypersensitive to any component of this product should avoid using Ivermite.

Warnings:

Patients with hyperreactive onchodermatitis (sowed) may experience severe adverse reactions, especially if they have severe onchodermatitis. Care should be taken in patients coinfected with Loa as they may develop serious encephalopathy

Precautions:

  • Repeated stool examinations are necessary for Strongyloidiasis stercoral is clearance
  • Ivermite does not Repeated follow-up and retreatment may be necessary to eliminate adult Onchocerca parasites.

Pregnancy and Nursing Mothers:

Pregnant women should avoid using Ivermectin as its safety during pregnancy has not been established, and it is excreted in human milk. Breastfeeding mothers should carefully consider the risks and benefits before using it.

Pediatric Use:

We have not established the safety and effectiveness of this medication in pediatric patients weighing less than 15 kg.

Geriatric Use:

Elderly patients may require cautious treatment due to age related changes in hepatic, renal, or cardiac function
