Lurasidone acts on dopamine D2 and serotonin 5-HT2A and 5-HT7 receptors in the brain to reduce psychotic symptoms, improve mood, and stabilise emotional functioning. The 40mg strength is the initiating or lower maintenance dose, with titration guided by the treating psychiatrist.

Luda 40mg is prescribed for schizophrenia (positive and negative symptoms) and bipolar depression in adults, under direct psychiatric supervision.
