Megaklar 60ml Suspension contains clarithromycin, a broad-spectrum macrolide antibiotic formulated as an oral suspension for convenient paediatric dosing. Clarithromycin inhibits bacterial protein synthesis at the 50S ribosomal subunit, stopping bacterial replication and clearing infection effectively.
Megaklar Suspension is prescribed for children with mild-to-moderate bacterial infections including: acute otitis media (ear infection), pharyngitis and tonsillitis, acute bacterial sinusitis, community-acquired pneumonia, and skin and soft-tissue infections. The liquid form ensures accurate weight-based dosing and easier administration compared to tablets. The bottle should be shaken well before each dose, and the full course must be completed even if the child appears well.
