Description
Nitroscot Capsules 2.6mg contain Nitroglycerin (Glyceryl Trinitrate), a nitric oxide donor and potent vasodilator prescribed for the prophylaxis and treatment of angina pectoris. Nitroscot works by relaxing vascular smooth muscle, dilating peripheral veins and arteries, reducing venous return to the heart, and lowering left ventricular end-diastolic pressure. This reduces myocardial oxygen demand and relieves the chest pain and tightness associated with effort-induced and vasospastic angina.
Nitroscot 2.6mg is indicated for stable angina, vasospastic (Prinzmetal) angina, and as adjunctive therapy in heart failure refractory to digitalis or diuretics. Intermittent dosing — rather than continuous three-times-daily use — is recommended to prevent nitrate tolerance. How To Use
