FAQs

What is Oflobid 400mg used for?

It is used for severe bacterial infections including typhoid fever, pneumonia, complicated UTIs, sinusitis, and skin infections.

What is the cardiac risk with Ofloxacin?

Ofloxacin can prolong the QT interval on the ECG, increasing the risk of cardiac arrhythmias. Caution is required in patients with heart conditions or those on other QT-prolonging medications.

Why does Oflobid cause tendon risk?

Fluoroquinolones can damage tendon tissue, especially in older patients or those on corticosteroids. Stop immediately if tendon pain, swelling, or inflammation occurs and do not exercise the affected area.

Can Oflobid treat typhoid fever?

Yes — Ofloxacin is one of the commonly prescribed antibiotics for typhoid fever in Pakistan, under a doctor's prescription and guidance.
