Olepra 10mg Tablets contain Olanzapine, a second-generation (atypical) antipsychotic with broad receptor affinity: D2, D3, D4 dopamine receptor antagonist, 5-HT2A serotonin antagonist, plus H1 (histamine), M1 (muscarinic), and α1-adrenergic antagonism. This multi-receptor profile provides antipsychotic efficacy with a lower risk of extrapyramidal side effects (EPS) compared to first-generation antipsychotics.
Olepra 10mg is prescribed for:
- Schizophrenia — reduces positive symptoms (hallucinations, delusions) and negative symptoms (social withdrawal, flat affect)
