Omsana AM 5/20mg Tablet is a prescription combination antihypertensive medicine containing Amlodipine 5mg (calcium channel blocker / CCB) and Olmesartan Medoxomil 20mg (angiotensin II receptor blocker / ARB). It is used for the treatment of hypertension (high blood pressure) when single blood pressure medication is not adequate.
Olmesartan relaxes blood vessels by blocking angiotensin II receptors, while Amlodipine widens peripheral arteries by inhibiting calcium influx. Together, they provide effective and long-lasting 24-hour BP control, reduce cardiac workload, and help prevent stroke, heart attack, and kidney damage.
Important: Contraindicated in pregnancy — the ARB (Olmesartan) component is teratogenic and must not be used during any trimester. Do not stop this medicine abruptly. Monitor blood pressure and renal function regularly during therapy. Take only under qualified medical supervision.
