Onvate Lotion 20ml contains Fluticasone Propionate BP 0.05mg per ml, a potent topical corticosteroid indicated for the relief of inflammatory and pruritic manifestations of atopic dermatitis (eczema) in patients aged 1 year and older. Manufactured by Crystolite Pharmaceuticals, it is applied once daily as a thin film to affected skin areas.

Composition

  • Fluticasone Propionate BP — 0.05 mg per ml (0.005% w/v)

Indications

Onvate Lotion is indicated for the topical treatment of atopic dermatitis (eczema) in adults and children aged 1 year and older. It is not intended for treating primarily infected skin lesions caused by fungi or bacteria, or for use beyond 4 weeks without medical review.

Dosage and Administration

Apply a thin film of Onvate Lotion to the affected skin once daily. Gently rub in for effective absorption. Do not use occlusive dressings unless directed. Use the minimum effective amount, especially in children.

Contraindications

  • Perianal dermatitis
  • Hypersensitivity to fluticasone propionate or any excipient
  • Primary cutaneous viral infections (e.g. herpes simplex, chickenpox)

Precautions

  • Use with caution in infants under 3 months of age
  • Prolonged use on large areas or under occlusion, especially in children, may cause adrenal suppression
  • Long-term use may lead to skin thinning, hypertrichosis, or hypopigmentation
  • Do not use on the face without dermatologist advice — see safer alternatives for facial dermatitis
  • Use during pregnancy only if the benefit outweighs potential risk to the foetus

Adverse Effects

Local burning and pruritus are common, particularly early in treatment. Prolonged use may cause skin atrophy. If you notice worsening or new symptoms, consult your dermatologist. See other Crystolite products or essential dermatology medicines at Derma.pk.
