Procort Cream — Betamethasone Dipropionate USP 0.05% (15g)
Procort Cream is a prescription potent topical corticosteroid containing Betamethasone Dipropionate USP 0.05% w/w (0.5mg per gram). It provides effective anti-inflammatory and antipruritic relief for corticosteroid-responsive dermatoses, including severe psoriasis and eczema that may not respond adequately to lower-potency treatments.
Prescription required. Use only as directed by your dermatologist or physician.
Composition
Each gram contains: Betamethasone Dipropionate USP 0.05% w/w (0.5 mg) in a cream base. Complies with USP specifications.
Indications
Corticosteroid-responsive dermatoses including:
- Severe psoriasis (including plaque psoriasis)
- Atopic eczema and contact dermatitis
- Other inflammatory and allergic skin conditions
- Conditions presenting with erythema, oedema, itching, burning, and skin thickening
How to Use
As directed by your dermatologist. Generally applied as a thin layer to affected areas twice daily. Some patients may maintain improvement with less frequent application. Do not use with occlusive dressings unless directed.
Precautions
- Prescription only — for external use
- Do not use in viral skin infections (herpes, varicella), tuberculosis, acne rosacea, fungal infections, or perioral dermatitis
- Discontinue if irritation or sensitisation develops
- Prolonged use on large areas increases systemic absorption risk
- Avoid during first trimester of pregnancy; use with caution during breastfeeding
- Store below 25°C, away from light, heat, and moisture
- Keep out of reach of children
