About Roviros Rosuvastatin 10mg Tablets

Roviros 10mg Tablets contain Rosuvastatin Calcium, an HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor (statin) used to lower elevated LDL cholesterol, total cholesterol, and triglycerides while raising beneficial HDL cholesterol. Rosuvastatin is one of the most potent statins available and is prescribed for primary hypercholesterolaemia, mixed dyslipidaemia, and for the prevention of cardiovascular events (heart attack, stroke, atherosclerosis) in high-risk patients.

Unlike some other statins (notably Simvastatin and Lovastatin), Rosuvastatin is not significantly metabolised by CYP3A4, which means it carries no clinically relevant grapefruit interaction — an important practical advantage. It is excreted predominantly by the kidneys; dose reduction is recommended in patients with severe renal impairment (eGFR below 30 mL/min/1.73m²). Rosuvastatin is associated with a lower risk of myopathy at equivalent cholesterol-lowering doses compared to Simvastatin. Pregnancy contraindication: Rosuvastatin is contraindicated in pregnancy — cholesterol biosynthesis is essential for foetal development and statin use can cause foetal harm. Women of childbearing age should use effective contraception. Browse our complete cardiovascular medicines range and all prescription tablets available in Pakistan.

Key Benefits

  • Potent LDL reduction — lowers bad cholesterol by up to 52% at 10mg
  • Raises HDL (good cholesterol) and lowers triglycerides
  • Prevents heart attack, stroke, and atherosclerotic plaque formation
  • No grapefruit interaction — unlike Simvastatin and Lovastatin
  • Lower myopathy risk vs. Simvastatin at equivalent doses
  • Once-daily dosing, can be taken at any time of day

How to Use

Take one tablet once daily, with or without food, at a consistent time each day. Rosuvastatin can be taken at any time — unlike some statins it does not need to be taken at night. Avoid in pregnancy and use effective contraception if of childbearing age. Reduce dose in severe renal impairment. Do not stop without medical advice. Prescription only.
