About Selgin 5mg

Selgin 5mg Tablet contains Selegiline, a selective Monoamine Oxidase-B (MAO-B) inhibitor used in the management of Parkinson's disease. It works by inhibiting the MAO-B enzyme that breaks down dopamine in the brain, thereby increasing dopamine availability to improve motor function, reduce tremors, and decrease muscle rigidity. It is often used as an adjunct to Levodopa/Carbidopa therapy. Available on prescription only — use as directed by your neurologist ONLY. Inform your doctor of ALL medications before use.

Uses

Selgin 5mg is prescribed as an adjunct to Levodopa in Parkinson's disease management to improve motor control, reduce off-periods, and allow reduction of Levodopa dose. It may also be used under psychiatrist supervision as an adjunct for major depressive disorder in selected patients. This is a specialist neurological/psychiatric Rx — do not initiate, alter, or discontinue without neurology/psychiatry supervision.

How to Use

Take Selgin exactly as directed by your neurologist or psychiatrist — do not self-adjust the dose. It is typically taken in the morning to avoid sleep disturbances. Swallow whole with water. Do not combine with other antidepressants (SSRIs, TCAs, SNRIs — risk of serotonin syndrome) or pethidine/meperidine. Follow your doctor's dietary recommendations. Do not stop treatment suddenly — discontinue gradually under medical supervision only.

Storage

Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Keep out of children's reach.
