As an aromatase inhibitor, Letrozole competitively and reversibly inhibits aromatase (CYP19A1), the enzyme responsible for converting androgens to oestrogens in peripheral tissues. In postmenopausal women, oestrogen deprivation via aromatase inhibition suppresses hormone-sensitive tumour growth and reduces risk of recurrence. Bone density monitoring is recommended for long-term oncology use. How To Use
Use only as directed by your healthcare provider.
1. For infertility: take 2.5mg once daily on days 2–6 of the menstrual cycle, as prescribed by your gynaecologist or reproductive endocrinologist.
2. For breast cancer: take 2.5mg once daily as prescribed by your oncologist, usually for 5 years.
3. Swallow the tablet whole with a full glass of water at the same time each day.
