Description
Telmis-A 80/5mg Tablets are a dual-mechanism prescription antihypertensive combining Telmisartan 80mg (an angiotensin II receptor blocker, ARB) and Amlodipine 5mg (a dihydropyridine calcium channel blocker). Amlodipine relaxes vascular smooth muscle by blocking calcium influx, reducing peripheral vascular resistance. Telmisartan selectively blocks AT1 receptors, preventing angiotensin II-mediated vasoconstriction and aldosterone secretion, which reduces fluid retention. This synergistic combination provides effective blood pressure control and reduces the risk of cardiovascular events.
