Description
About Tobracin-D Eye Drops 5ml
Tobracin-D Eye Drops 5ml is a combination ophthalmic medicine containing Tobramycin (aminoglycoside antibiotic) and Dexamethasone (corticosteroid). Tobramycin kills infection-causing bacteria while Dexamethasone rapidly reduces redness, swelling, and pain. It is prescribed for bacterial eye infections with associated inflammation, and is commonly used post-operatively to prevent infection and control inflammation. Tobracin-D is a prescription (Rx) medicine — use only under ophthalmologist supervision. Important: The steroid component (Dexamethasone) is contraindicated in viral (herpes simplex) or fungal eye infections, and prolonged use requires intraocular pressure (IOP) monitoring for glaucoma risk.
Key Benefits
- Dual antibiotic + steroid action for faster infection and inflammation relief
- Treats bacterial conjunctivitis, blepharitis, and post-surgical inflammation
- Rapidly reduces eye redness, pain, and discharge
- Prevents bacterial infection after eye surgery or trauma
- Restores eye comfort and visual clarity under Rx management
How to Use
Wash hands before use. Tilt head back, pull down lower eyelid, and instil 1–2 drops into the affected eye(s) as prescribed (typically 2–4 times daily). Close eye gently; do not rub. Do not touch dropper tip to eye surface. Replace cap tightly. Do not use longer than prescribed — prolonged steroid eye drops can raise intraocular pressure.
