About Triptan 2.5mg
Triptan 2.5mg Tablet contains Zolmitriptan, a serotonin (5-HT1B/1D) receptor agonist (triptan class) used for the acute treatment of migraine attacks with or without aura in adults. It works by constricting dilated cranial blood vessels and blocking the release of neuropeptides that cause migraine pain, nausea, and photophobia. This medicine is for acute migraine treatment only — not for migraine prevention or tension headaches. Available on prescription only. Consult your physician before use, especially if you have cardiovascular disease, as triptans are contraindicated in ischaemic heart disease, uncontrolled hypertension, and history of stroke.
Uses
Triptan 2.5mg is indicated for the acute treatment of migraine headache with or without aura in adults with a physician-confirmed migraine diagnosis. It relieves headache pain, nausea, vomiting, and sensitivity to light and sound. It is not a prophylactic (preventive) treatment and should not be used for regular or tension-type headaches. Do not use within 24 hours of another triptan or ergotamine-containing medicine.
How to Use
Take one tablet at the onset of a migraine attack — do not wait until the pain is severe. Swallow whole with water. If migraine returns after initial relief, a second dose may be taken after 2 hours only if directed by your doctor. Do not exceed the maximum daily dose. Use only as directed by your physician.
