About Valmo Tablets 5mg/80mg

Valmo Tablets 5mg/80mg contain a fixed-dose combination of Amlodipine 5mg (a calcium channel blocker) and Valsartan 80mg (an angiotensin II receptor blocker / ARB). This lower-dose combination is often used as an initial dual-therapy option or as a step-up for patients already on one of its components.

Amlodipine lowers blood pressure by relaxing smooth muscle in arterial walls through calcium channel blockade. Valsartan blocks the AT1 angiotensin II receptor, preventing vasoconstriction and reducing aldosterone-mediated fluid retention. Together they provide additive antihypertensive efficacy suited for the management of essential hypertension.

This is a prescription-only medicine (Rx). Valsartan is contraindicated in pregnancy. Ankle oedema may occur (Amlodipine effect) — report to your physician if bothersome. Do not stop therapy without medical advice.
