Valtec 40mg Tablets contain Valsartan 40mg, an Angiotensin II Receptor Blocker (ARB) used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) and heart failure, and to improve outcomes following a myocardial infarction (heart attack). The 40mg dose is the standard starting strength for Valsartan therapy, allowing the body to adjust before dose escalation if required by the physician.
Valsartan selectively blocks the AT1 receptor for angiotensin II, preventing vasoconstriction and reducing aldosterone release — resulting in lower blood pressure, reduced cardiac preload and afterload, and improved kidney protection.
