Description
About Valtec AM 10/160mg Tablets (28s)
Valtec AM 10/160mg Tablets contain a fixed-dose combination of Amlodipine 10mg (a calcium channel blocker, CCB) and Valsartan 160mg (an angiotensin II receptor blocker, ARB). This dual-action antihypertensive is prescribed when single-agent therapy is insufficient for controlling high blood pressure (hypertension) or when reduced pill burden is preferred for combination treatment.
Amlodipine relaxes and dilates peripheral arteries by blocking L-type calcium channels in vascular smooth muscle, reducing peripheral resistance. Valsartan simultaneously blocks angiotensin II at the AT1 receptor, inhibiting vasoconstriction and aldosterone secretion. Together they produce additive blood pressure reduction with complementary mechanisms — lowering the risk of stroke, heart attack, and heart failure.
Important: Valsartan is contraindicated in pregnancy (Category D). This is a prescription-only (Rx) medicine. Do not use without physician supervision. For related cardiovascular treatments, browse our Anti-Hypertensive collection or the full Tablets and Capsules range at Derma.pk.
