Description
Velon-M 50/1000mg Tablets combine Vildagliptin (50 mg), a DPP-4 inhibitor, with Metformin hydrochloride (1000 mg), a biguanide, for dual-mechanism management of type 2 diabetes mellitus. Vildagliptin enhances incretin activity to stimulate glucose-dependent insulin secretion and suppress glucagon, while Metformin reduces hepatic glucose production and improves peripheral insulin sensitivity.
This fixed-dose combination is indicated for adult patients whose blood glucose is not adequately controlled on Metformin monotherapy or on a combination of Vildagliptin and Metformin given as separate tablets.
