Vinjec IV Injection 1g — Vancomycin Hydrochloride
Vinjec IV Injection 1g is a hospital-grade glycopeptide antibiotic containing Vancomycin Hydrochloride, indicated for serious and life-threatening infections caused by susceptible Gram-positive organisms, including Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA). It works by inhibiting bacterial cell-wall biosynthesis and is bactericidal against most Gram-positive pathogens.
Vinjec IV is prescribed for staphylococcal endocarditis, septicemia, osteomyelitis, lower respiratory tract infections, and skin and soft tissue infections. It is reserved for patients with penicillin hypersensitivity or infections caused by organisms resistant to other antibiotics.
Clinical Administration & Monitoring
- Administered exclusively via slow intravenous infusion (minimum 60 minutes) to prevent infusion-related reactions
- Renal function (serum creatinine, BUN) must be monitored throughout therapy
- Therapeutic drug monitoring (TDM) of vancomycin serum levels is required, especially in high-risk patients
- Audiological monitoring recommended during prolonged courses due to ototoxicity risk
- Dose adjustment required in patients with renal impairment
