Zestoretic-20 Tablets by ICI Pharma combine lisinopril 20 mg, an ACE (angiotensin-converting enzyme) inhibitor, with hydrochlorothiazide 12.5 mg, a thiazide diuretic. This dual mechanism is prescribed for patients with high blood pressure (hypertension) who need more than a single antihypertensive drug to reach their blood pressure target.
Lisinopril relaxes blood vessels by blocking the conversion of angiotensin I to angiotensin II, reducing vascular resistance and easing the heart's workload. Hydrochlorothiazide gently increases urine output, lowering excess body fluid and sodium.
