Description
Zyto Tablets 500mg contain Azithromycin 500mg, a broad-spectrum macrolide antibiotic that inhibits bacterial protein synthesis by binding to the 50S ribosomal subunit. It is prescribed for adults and children with susceptible bacterial infections including community-acquired pneumonia, acute bacterial exacerbations of chronic bronchitis, pharyngitis, sinusitis, skin and soft tissue infections, and sexually transmitted infections caused by Chlamydia trachomatis.
Azithromycin has a prolonged tissue half-life allowing short-course therapy (typically 3–5 days), with excellent intracellular penetration making it effective against atypical pathogens such as Mycoplasma pneumoniae and Legionella species.
