Micosone Lotion is a medicated dermatological treatment that combines Miconazole Nitrate and Hydrocortisone to treat fungal skin infections accompanied by inflammation.

Composition

Each application delivers Miconazole Nitrate BP 20mg (2% w/v) and Hydrocortisone BP 10mg (1% w/v), an antifungal paired with a mild steroid to calm inflammation.

Uses

Micosone Lotion treats fungal infections with inflammation, including athlete's foot (tinea pedis), tinea versicolor (white spot), ringworm and candidiasis. For other antifungal options, explore clotrimazole and terbinafine treatments.

Dosage and Administration

Clean the affected area, then apply a thin layer to cover it once or twice daily and rub in gently for good absorption. Continue for at least one week after symptoms clear to eliminate any remaining fungus.

Contraindications and Precautions

Do not use on tuberculosis or herpes simplex skin infections, or if you have had live vaccines. Consult your doctor if pregnant, planning to conceive or breastfeeding, and avoid contact with the eyes. Use cautiously in children, avoid use under 2 years without medical advice, and don't cover the treated area unless directed. See your doctor if there's no improvement within four weeks for athlete's foot or two weeks for jock itch.

Side Effects

Stop and consult your doctor if you notice worsening redness, swelling, pain, itching or stinging. Prolonged use of the steroid component may cause acne or oily skin, skin thinning, stretch marks or other effects.
