Am Telsan 10/80mg Tab is a high-strength fixed-dose combination antihypertensive containing Amlodipine 10mg (calcium channel blocker) and Telmisartan 80mg (ARB), used for the management of severe or resistant hypertension and cardiovascular risk reduction. Amlodipine 10mg delivers maximal peripheral vasodilation through calcium channel blockade. Uses of Am Telsan 10/80mg
Indicated for severe or resistant essential hypertension in adults, high-risk patients requiring aggressive blood pressure targets (e.g., with diabetes, chronic kidney disease, or established cardiovascular disease), and patients stepping up from lower-strength combinations. Dosage & Administration
One tablet once daily, with or without food. Take at the same time each day. Swallow whole. Maximum recommended Amlodipine dose is 10mg/day. Prescription required; dose determined by physician.
Side Effects
Peripheral oedema (high incidence at 10mg Amlodipine), headache, dizziness, flushing. Telmisartan 80mg: hyperkalaemia, renal function decline especially with concurrent ACE inhibitors. Hypotension risk in volume-depleted patients.
Precautions
Contraindicated in pregnancy, bilateral renal artery stenosis, concomitant aliskiren in diabetes/renal impairment. Monitor blood pressure, potassium, and creatinine at initiation and periodically. Do not combine with another RAAS blocker. Prescription required.
