Am Telsan 10/40mg Tab
Description
What is Am Telsan 10/40mg Tab?
Am Telsan 10/40mg Tab is a combination antihypertensive tablet containing Amlodipine 10mg (calcium channel blocker) and Telmisartan 40mg (angiotensin II receptor blocker / ARB), indicated for hypertension management in adults requiring higher-dose Amlodipine therapy. For the lower Amlodipine dose, see Am Telsan 5/40mg Tab.
How Does Am Telsan 10/40mg Work?
Amlodipine 10mg provides maximal calcium channel blockade in peripheral arterioles, substantially reducing vascular resistance and blood pressure. Telmisartan blocks AT1 angiotensin II receptors, preventing vasoconstriction and aldosterone release. The combination also exerts protective effects on cardiac and renal end-organs beyond blood pressure lowering alone.
Uses of Am Telsan 10/40mg
Used in adults with essential hypertension who need stronger blood pressure control, including patients inadequately controlled on lower-dose combinations. Particularly useful for patients with angina or isolated systolic hypertension benefiting from higher Amlodipine dosing. Also see Am Telsan 10/80mg Tab for higher Telmisartan dose option.
