How Does Am Telsan 5/40mg Work?
Amlodipine blocks L-type calcium channels in vascular smooth muscle, causing arterial vasodilation and reduced peripheral resistance. Telmisartan selectively antagonises AT1 angiotensin II receptors, preventing vasoconstriction and aldosterone-mediated sodium retention. The dual mechanism provides complementary blood pressure lowering with 24-hour efficacy.
