Bepsar 25mg Tablet — Losartan Potassium for Hypertension (Starter Dose)
Bepsar 25mg Tablet contains Losartan Potassium 25mg, an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) antihypertensive. Losartan selectively blocks the AT1 receptor — preventing angiotensin II from constricting blood vessels and raising blood pressure — without the dry cough associated with ACE inhibitors.
The 25mg starting dose is prescribed for elderly patients, those with impaired renal function, liver disease, or volume depletion, allowing safe initiation before dose titration. Bepsar 25mg is particularly valuable in diabetic patients with proteinuria, where Losartan has proven nephroprotective benefits (slowing diabetic kidney disease progression).
