Description
Empagli 10mg Tablet contains empagliflozin 10mg, an SGLT2 inhibitor that lowers blood glucose by blocking sodium-glucose co-transporter 2 in the kidneys, promoting excretion of excess glucose through urine. In addition to glycaemic control, empagliflozin provides clinically proven cardiovascular and renal protective benefits, reducing the risk of cardiovascular death and slowing the progression of chronic kidney disease in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus.
Empagli 10mg is the standard starting dose for most patients and may be used as monotherapy when metformin is not tolerated, or in combination with other antidiabetic agents including insulin, sulfonylureas, and DPP-4 inhibitors, as directed by your physician. It is not indicated for type 1 diabetes mellitus or diabetic ketoacidosis.
For patients who require a higher dose after initial therapy, see Empagli 25mg Tablets. For dual combination therapy with metformin, see Empaglimet 12.5/1000mg Tablets.
