Description
Empagli 25mg Tablet contains empagliflozin 25mg, the higher-strength SGLT2 inhibitor formulation prescribed for adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus who require greater glycaemic reduction than the 10mg dose provides. By preventing renal glucose reabsorption, empagliflozin lowers blood sugar levels and simultaneously delivers cardiovascular and renal protective effects, including reduction of major adverse cardiovascular events and slowing chronic kidney disease progression.
Empagli 25mg is used when the 10mg dose is insufficient to achieve target HbA1c goals, or at the physician's discretion for patients with established cardiovascular disease requiring maximum SGLT2 inhibition. It may be combined with other antidiabetic medications. Not indicated for type 1 diabetes, severe kidney disease (eGFR below 45 mL/min), or diabetic ketoacidosis.
