Irecon H 300/12.5mg Tablets are a fixed-dose combination containing irbesartan 300mg, a selective AT1 receptor antagonist (ARB), and hydrochlorothiazide 12.5mg, a thiazide diuretic. This higher-dose combination provides robust dual-mechanism blood pressure reduction: irbesartan blocks angiotensin-II vasoconstriction while hydrochlorothiazide reduces plasma volume through renal sodium excretion.
Irecon H 300/12.5mg is indicated for adults with essential hypertension whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled on irbesartan 300mg monotherapy. It is also appropriate for patients previously stabilised on irbesartan and hydrochlorothiazide as separate tablets who prefer the convenience of a combination tablet. Therapy reduces the risk of cardiovascular events including stroke and myocardial infarction in hypertensive patients.
