Description
Mectimite Tablets 6mg contain Ivermectin, a broad-spectrum antiparasitic agent belonging to the avermectin class of anthelmintics. Each pack contains 10 tablets, manufactured by Pharmahealth Pakistan under registered pharmaceutical standards.
Ivermectin binds selectively and with high affinity to glutamate-gated chloride ion channels in invertebrate nerve and muscle cells, causing increased permeability of the cell membrane, paralysis, and death of the parasite. It has no similar effect on mammalian cells, making it a targeted antiparasitic treatment.
Mectimite is indicated for the treatment of parasitic infections including strongyloidiasis (intestinal threadworm), scabies, and infections caused by Wuchereria bancrofti, as prescribed by a physician. It is also used for scabies treatment under medical supervision.
