Terbinafine HCI USP in a Cream base

Physiochemical Properties:

Terbinafine
Hydrochloride: Broad spectrum antifungal, fungicidal at low concentrations,
soluble in organic solvents, slightly soluble in water

Mechanism of Action:

Terbinafine inhibits
squalene epoxidase, disrupting ergosterol synthesis, leading to damaged fungal
cell membranes Fungicidal action sets it apart from fungistatic alternatives

Pharmacokinetics:

Cream: Minimal
absorption (less than 5%) after topical application

Indications:

Cream: For fungal
infections of the skin caused by various pathogens, including candida albican
and pityriasis versicolor
