Rozole 100mg Capsules contain Itraconazole, a broad-spectrum triazole antifungal that inhibits ergosterol synthesis — an essential component of fungal cell membranes. It is indicated for a wide range of dermatomycoses, onychomycoses, and systemic fungal infections in adults.
Indications
- Onychomycosis – fungal nail infections of the toenails and fingernails
- Tinea Infections – Tinea cruris (jock itch), Tinea corporis (ringworm), Tinea pedis (athlete's foot)
- Pityriasis Versicolor – skin discolouration caused by Malassezia species
- Oral and Vulvovaginal Candidiasis
- Fungal Keratitis
- Systemic Mycoses – Aspergillosis and Histoplasmosis
Mechanism of Action
Itraconazole inhibits CYP51 (14α-lanosterol demethylase), blocking the conversion of lanosterol to ergosterol and disrupting fungal cell membrane structure and function.
Dosage & Administration
- Use as directed by your physician.
- Capsules should be taken with or immediately after a full meal for optimal absorption.
- Duration varies by indication — typically 7–15 days for superficial infections; pulse therapy for onychomycosis.
