Advanced Diode Laser Hair Removal for Neck: Smooth, Hair-free Results
Description
Diode Laser Hair Removal — Neck
In-clinic diode laser hair removal targeted to the neck (front and/or back) at Skin Clinic by Dr. Eram Razzaq, Bahria Town Lahore. Useful for unwanted hair on the front of the neck (often hormone-related in women) or the back of the neck along the hairline (often coarse in men).
What to expect
The neck typically needs 6–10 sessions spaced 4–6 weeks apart, with top-ups. It is a hormone-sensitive area, especially in women, so dormant follicles can reactivate and ongoing maintenance is common. Best on dark, coarse hair; white, grey, red and very fine vellus hair generally will not respond. A consultation rules out underlying causes (e.g. PCOS) before laser is recommended.

Usage & Benefits
- Small, quick treatment area.
- Reduces shaving/threading frequency on the neck.
- Cooled diode tip makes the bony/lymph-node-rich neck region more comfortable.
- Honest limits: 6-10 sessions are typical and the neck often needs more top-ups than other areas because of hormonal influence. White, grey, red and fine vellus hair do not respond well. Permanent removal cannot be guaranteed - expect long-term reduction with maintenance.

Pre-care:
- Do NOT wax, pluck or thread for 2-4 weeks. Shave the area 12-24 hours before.
- No sun exposure or self-tanners for 4 weeks before AND after.
- No skincare actives (retinoids, strong acids) on the neck for 3-5 days before.
- Tell your clinician about hormonal conditions (PCOS, thyroid), photosensitising drugs, recent isotretinoin and pregnancy.
Procedure: protective goggles are worn. The cooled handpiece is passed over the neck in sections.
Aftercare: avoid hot showers, sauna, perfume and turtleneck friction for 24-48 hours. Apply soothing aloe/panthenol gel and broad-spectrum SPF 30+ daily (the neck is highly UV-exposed). Shave only between sessions.
FAQs
How many sessions for the neck?
Typically 6-10 sessions at 4-6 week intervals; expect top-ups.
Why does the neck need more sessions?
It is hormone-sensitive. Dormant follicles can switch on, especially with PCOS or thyroid imbalance.
Does it hurt?
A warm snap. Cooling tips help. The bony/jaw line can feel sharper.
Will it work on light fuzz?
No. Diode laser needs pigment. Vellus/peach-fuzz hair will not respond.
Contraindications?
Pregnancy, photosensitising medication, recent isotretinoin (6 months), active skin infection or rash, recent sun-tan, gold deposits in skin.
Should I get hormones checked first?
If facial/neck hair is sudden or excessive, your dermatologist may recommend a hormonal review before starting laser.
Cost?
Confirmed at consultation.
